Catching catfish mostly requires bait that has been or is alive. Probably shad or skipjack. Catching bait with a throw net is an art that most cant do or have not tried. You can also catch bait on hooks or small jigs but for those not caring to do so, how about an alternative? On this G3 Sportsman episode Scott Turnage tries an old tried and true bait from the frozen food section at the store. Raw shrimp! As an easy substitute for the norm, the shrimp seemed to work just fine.
